This doe reminds me of her great-granddam, Misty Blue, who was my first Silver Fox meat brood doe about seven years ago. Although her type lacks for a show rabbit, there are some things I really like about her for a meat brood doe with the potential for show offspring. For one, she has a deep blue coloring for good contrast with her silvering that is highly desired in blues and she was (and still is) the largest of her kindle. I know her line on her mother's side very well and they all were excellent mothers, who produced plenty of milk and are hardy.
Both of her parents are Grand Champions. Yanish, the sire, is out of GC Carrot Garden's Astro Man (16 legs) and GC Funck's Zinfandel (17 legs). Inola, the dam, is out of GC Miss Maggie's Leon (4 legs) and her dam is the granddaughter of my first Silver Fox doe, Misty Blue.
As of 2/26/2021, this is my assessment: Her fur is not finished and could be thicker and is about medium in length. Silvering is medium but not finished on the head. She is long in the body and low at the shoulder, which is not a trait that either parent has but her great-grandmother did. However, she may have potential in the right breeding program—remember I bred this line starting from a doe just like her and produced her Grand Champion mother.
