Thanking my Lord and my husband!
God has blessed us with some of His remarkable Silver Fox rabbits. It still amazes me when I look at the records of our rabbits' accomplishments on the show tables. I try to be a good steward so His blessing pours out through this heritage breed that I so love and I thank all the breeders who contributed to help me develop my lines so I could pass the blessing on to others. This is my praise report to show what God has done for us and also a tribute to my husband who talked me into raising rabbits for meat in 2010 and has supported my showing habit since 2018 even though he cannot travel with me to all the shows.
On the subject of travel, I would like to say I have been honored to place in the top three placements for the National Silver Fox Rabbit Club (NSFRC) sweepstakes for six years in a row since the first year I have been showing, which was the result of more traveling in recent years. I have always thought of sweepstakes as not so much about show wins but more about supporting all breeds and specialty clubs as well as promoting the breed itself. The more shows we all enter and the more rabbits we enter the more it helps the host clubs financially, which results in more sweepstakes points being awarded. I also thought of sweeps as an amazing incentive to bring more breeders to the shows and become NSFRC members. In the last year, I have been attending and supporting several new show clubs, many times as the only Silver Fox exhibitor, so when people come to the rabbit shows looking over the rabbit breeds, I had the opportunity to introduce them to Silver Foxes. I have been an advocate for the sweepstakes program because even as the only exhibitor (so earning legs could only happen in the Best in Show judging) I would still be awarded sweepstakes points. However, recently the NSFRC Board of Directors has removed me from the program. Although I will continue to show my rabbits at every show I can to promote this breed, I will not be on the NSFRC sweepstakes lists for some time.
As you can see from my records, I am devoted to showing this breed. What you do not see is how I pray and sing praises to God every day in my rabbitry. How I pray before assigning names with special meanings that are words of blessings I was given by God for each rabbit and how some of those blessings were passed on to new owners, including youth. You cannot see in the statistics how much was done to promote the breed and get others a good start or provide rabbits that would improve other breeders' lines most commonly with rabbits that had already earned legs. And you cannot see how we have achieved so much with a very small rabbitry but all of this is because of God.
